FAQ

Where is guest parking?

We have ample free parking.

Parking is to the rear of the church. You will also find the main entrance there too.

What will my children do during service?

All ages are welcome at BHWC.

We encourage families to bring their children to the services. Our congregation is very understanding of families with young children. Children’s Church is available during Sunday service; it’s a great opportunity for your children to meet other kids, share in some fun activities and of course, learn. We also offer a staffed nursery for those between ages 0-3.

What should I wear?

Blacks Harbour Wesleyan does not have a dress code for the Sunday services.

Dress however you want, be comfortable!

When you attend services at BHWC, the thing that matters is that you enjoy the services.

Is there specific seating, or can I sit anywhere?

Please feel free to sit anywhere you wish.

Will I be asked for a donation?

The collection plate is passed during the service, however the decision to donate is entirely up to you, as is the amount.

Our church, its facilities and our ministries are entirely supported by voluntary donations, so all donations are graciously received and very welcome.

Who can take communion?

All persons of faith in Christ are welcome to take part in Communion.

Those who wish to take Communion may do so when we offer it. If you do not wish to receive Communion, you are still welcome to join in the worship service.

How long are the services?

About an hour, but it can vary a bit during the holidays or for special events.

Our Sunday service begins at 10:30 am. Coffee is available before and after service. If you have the time, please join us and get to know some of the folks at BHWC.

What denomination is BHWC affiliated with?

Blacks Harbour is a Wesleyan Church.

See our What We Believe page for more information.

How do I follow along in the service?

When you arrive, you will receive a copy of the day’s bulletin which contains our church information.

Lyrics to worship songs are displayed on the screens at the front of the sanctuary. You can stand or sit, sing or just listen; please do whichever you find most comfortable.

Is the church available for weddings and funerals?
